COVID-19 Pandemic
For
me, the COVID-19 pandemic has had both positive and negative effects.
Being
able to wake up at 8:00 every morning has been an improvement,
however the
virus has also resulted
in some
less favorable outcomes.
Sport
and
Speed Climbing
Nationals was supposed to take place at
the Richmond Oval,
just
thirty minutes from my house,
however the rest of the competition climbing season in
Canada
has been canceled due to COVID-19. I
was also supposed to spend ten days staying with a friend in Toronto
this summer, but we were unfortunately forced to cancel the flight.
There
are people facing far greater struggles
then
I currently am, however, so I hardly have a right to complain.
COVID-19
has given me the opportunity to spend time on things that I do not
usually do; I have started running in the mornings, and
have had the time to play piano and read more often.
When
the schools first closed down as a result of the virus, I was excited
for
all
the possibilities and opportunities that would be available without
school
hours consuming half of my day.
Once
everything else
began closing as well, however,
the outcomes of
COVID-19
became
far less
enjoyable. I am incredibly lucky, however, that my biggest problem is boredom and I am also very grateful to the healthcare workers who deserve a tremendous amount of recognition for the hard work they do every day.
